About Dr. Wilkinson-Smith

I am a board-certified Clinical Neuropsychologist (ABPP) with a subspecialty in Pediatric Neuropsychology and more than 15 years of experience.

I began my career at an academic medical center, where I evaluated children of all ages with medical and neurological conditions, including epilepsy, brain tumors, traumatic brain injury, and genetic disorders. I also have extensive experience with neurodevelopmental conditions and conduct autism evaluations using the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition (ADOS‑2). My background includes work with specialty populations such as Functional Neurological Disorders (FND) and anti‑NMDA receptor encephalitis.

In addition to assessment for medical and neurodevelopmental conditions, I am certified in Therapeutic Assessment (TA) with Children by the Therapeutic Assessment Institute. TA is a brief, collaborative intervention that uses psychological testing to help families develop a new, more compassionate understanding of their difficulties, which can support meaningful change for parents, children, and teens. TA is particularly helpful for youth dealing with trauma and other psychosocial stressors, anxiety and mood disorders, and serious mental illness.

My training has given me a deep foundation in performance‑based assessment, including projective drawings, the Rorschach Performance Assessment System (RPAS), and the Wartegg Drawing Completion Test (WDCT). Across all evaluations, my goal is to provide clear, practical, and empathic feedback that helps families and providers make informed decisions about care.
